Rav Linzer, if a kosher winery wishes to reuse bottles, would they have to tovel them at any point?
ANSWER
Rav Moshe (Iggrot Moshe YD 2:40) has a brilliant teshuva that if a person takes glass jar, which is generally disposed of, and decides to use it permanently it still does not need tevilah. This is because it was made a halakhic jar by the Jew when he decided to reuse it. Before this point it wasn’t considered a keli, so the keli was made by a Jew.
If these bottles are generally disposable or recyclable for their glass, and not made to be reused as bottles, they don’t require tevilah.
