QUESTION

Chicago, IL

Is fish no longer subject to bishul akum since the spread of sushi has rendered it something that people eat raw?

ANSWER

I think if what was cooked was fresh enough to be eaten raw—I.e., sushi grade—that it probably is excluded from bishul akum. (SA YD 113:1, Arukh HaShulchan YD 113:12).
